For Sub-Saharan Africa, the USAID cuts will mean MAGA. Make AIDS Great Again. It's an entirely preventable tragedy and a crime against humanity. Millions will die, needlessly.

I agree with this. I'd note that this is a separate issue from having control of the border. There is a positive vision of the country where immigration is part of it.
Democratic politicians need to stop accepting Trump’s white nationalist premise that immigration is bad and proudly and loudly make a positive case for why America’s identity and history as a nation of immigrants is so important.

Trump is a twisted sorry excuse for a human being. Truly someone with no redeeming qualities at all. If you took everything awful about America and put it into a single individual, you get Trump.
I hope people take two minutes to listen to this shocking display of bigotry. It brings clarity to what we are fighting against. We should all be sick to hear such un-American drivel from the President of the United States.
Trump: "It’s a hellhole right now. And those Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain, complain, complain. You have her. She’s always talking about the Constitution provides me with – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution."

And a damning indictment at that. What we should be feeling is profound shame and embarrassment over this.
No it’s an indictment of white people. You all need to own this. Stop trying to blame others for your mess. More to the point, CLEAN IT UP!

There are millions of Americans who do not feel the current system is meeting their needs. Yes, the liberal order was tremendously successful. But it failed at reforming itself in some important ways. Both things can be true at the same time.
“Trumpism was not a rejection of a status quo that no longer served people’s legitimate needs.

The American order as we knew it was tremendously successful.

Liberalism’s great liability isn’t ‘wokeness.’ It’s a lack of self-confidence bordering on masochism.”

This is what serving with honor is all about.
"I cannot, in good conscience, authorize or execute orders that risk innocent lives and compromise the principles I swore to uphold."

No surprise here Adm. Alvin Holsey, who retired recently just a year in his new command, is an HBCU graduate.

Thank you for your moral courage, sir.

He conceded the point of the question in order to pivot to what he wanted to talk about. I don't see the problem here.
He shouldn’t just be pushed out as the House Democrats’ leader; he needs to be primaried out of his seat entirely. Just a complete waste of a deep blue seat.
Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

Most of them will continue to vote for Republicans. But cutting into their margins with rural voters can make a huge difference in a lot of states. So chasing those who are persuadable is worthwhile.
Rural America trusted Trump to bring prosperity. Instead they got tariffs, labor shortages, shuttered hospitals, frozen energy projects, and falling crop prices. His support in GOP strongholds appears to be collapsing.

Impeachment and removal can only occur with substantial Republican support since there is no scenario where Dems alone have 67 Senate votes.

And seeing as Trump can barely stay awake, I don't see much chance he goes full Fuehrer, either.

We are well past the high water mark of Trumpism.
Reality Time:

If Trump truly intends to go full dictator, it'll happen in the next 11 months. The way he's destroying the country, there is a full on GOP bloodbath coming next Nov, and when that happens and Dems take ALL of Congress, he knows he's going to be impeached, removed, and jailed.

a thing to ask yourself re: the GOP's electoral position is what could happen over the next year that could *improve* its position? and what could trump do, plausibly, that might *boost* his numbers with the public?

It won't be hard to find 100 seats. The challenge will be in deciding which 100 seats...
Contest 100 Repub-held seats.

Be relentless & ruthless.

Shoot the retreaters.

Leave no Republicans in a winnable seat.
December 3, 2025 at 3:56 AM
Biggest problem for Dems going forward is deciding which House seats to prioritize. There are going to be dozens of GOP held House seats at risk next year. While it's a good problem to have, you obviously can't give them all equal attention.

They think they're bringing back the 1950s, not stopping for a moment to think about how shitty the 1950s actually were and that the US economy thrived then only because the rest of the world was egregiously poor and/or devastated by World War II. It's a childish understanding of the world.
This is the crux of the bargain white ppl made voting for trump & the gop. "Rid us of brown ppl & make white ppl the majority again & we will sacrifice our jobs, savings, homes, and even children." They 💯 factored in those losses & decided it was worth it. That's why nothing else he does matters
December 2, 2025 at 5:24 AM
Any process that gets rid of him is fine by me. He's a threat to national security and extremely dangerous. We don't have the votes for impeachment.
Do you want Hegseth removed from office?

Are you OK with it being by means other than impeachment?

If the answer to #2 is no, the answer to #1 isn’t really yes.
December 2, 2025 at 3:49 AM
So many of them are also self-professed "Christians", Hegseth and Noem among them.
This administration is filled with the absolute dumbest, meanest, cruelest pieces of shit.

And they're so *proud* to be dumb, mean, cruel pieces of shit too. They delight in it. They brag about it.

It's vice signaling as a way of life.
I assume she means everyone who isn’t white.

A presidential pardon would not remove any criminal exposure from the International Criminal Court. While there are numerous impediments to such a prosecution, there's also a nonzero chance of such a thing happening.
No. When I say "pardoned by Vance, if not Trump," I mean if Trump doesn't finish his term. Someone in the White House will pardon Hegseth before 2028.
Tom just casually dismisses the prospect of a Dem win in 2028!

They saw the writing on the wall. You don't send the MAGA at a deep red state if your internal polls saw a very tight election.
