This is one of the things that's been clearly true about Trump from the beginning. He doesn't just punish his enemies, he punishes his allies -- the people who offered concessions, who made deals, who tried to be conciliatory.

There is no upside to working with Trump.
Columbia University sold out to fascists and brutally cracked down on kids whose only sin was opposing genocide.

The fascists threw the University under the bus anyway.

I feel like there's a lesson in there about complying with fascism.
