This, to me, is what artists owe to the world in an indoor, screen-saturated age. If people are going to experience the world second hand, fair enough. Let it not be third hand or fourth hand.

Every chocolate sold publicly has too much sugar in it. To get the good stuff you have to order online, go to weird boutiques, or the baking aisle.

It makes some sense why Bitcoin would go up while the meme was still spreading. I don't get what would cause it to go up now. Surely the meme has already reached everyone?
The world's largest and most important cryptocurrency is down $40,000 from an all-time high a month ago. And since it has literally zero intrinsic value there is no way to predict where a price support could kick in and the market would rally around it.

I think it is actually quite common for popular online posters to have a bigger audience than an average member of Congress.
Nobody's saying online posters have more accountability than elected Democrats. It's that they have *some* accountability, i.e., greater than zero, which adds up over many accounts, and the problem is that accounts with large followings like Internet Hippo seem to believe it is zero.

On one hand, a log plot is the only sensible way to represent trends over orders of magnitude. On the other hand, everyone underestimates how off you have to be for a log plot to be falsified. You have to be off by more than orders of magnitude.

I resent retail music now. I don't want to hear rock music from my teens at home depot. I don't want to hear christmas music before thanksgiving at target. If physical retail were actually humanized, it would play whatever the employees want to listen to.

The truth is I would much prefer a train to a waymo, but San Jose's VTA is the literal worst transit system in the world. It would take me 4 hours to get to work on it because it averages 13 miles an hour and snakes all over the place.

The way one ought to react to a triage decision in the hospital is usually the opposite of the way people react. You do not want to be a patient that the medical system considers high priority.
