This is exactly the problem, though. Why is 99% of discourse about this topic a "debate" about whether the people protesting *an extremely well-documented ongoing mass murder* really mean it?

That is not how I read it at all. The way I read this is that she thinks _actually preventing the genocide_ matters more than _putting on a show of opposing it_, and that she believes that the way a lot of the online left goes about the latter interferes with the former.
