Too online for my family, too real for my online.
I had to go to a meeting on Friday and I think the person next to me had some sort of stomach issue going on, because they kept letting out the most foul silent-but-deadly farts I've ever smelled. I consider it the greatest achievement I've had in my job since I started that I didn't pull a face.

Looking at the way some pundits talk about current global events I feel like lots of people didn't learn about the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact in school.

In case you're wondering, this sold for $1085.

Dad has to stay overnight at the hospital so they can get rid of the blood clot, but he's doing well considering the circumstances. We'll know more tomorrow after they run some tests, but I'm guessing his diet will at least be something we're going to have to address.

Love to wake up to EMTs taking my dad to the hospital 🙁. They suspect a blood clot in his leg. Thankfully he's still fairly mobile and coherent, so it probably isn't life threatening. Still, definitely not how I wanted to start my morning.

Almost had a heart attack driving into our yard when I saw what I thought was a dog running under my car. Turns out it was actually a HUGE hare and I didn't even touch the bastard, it just sat there looking at me until finally deigning to get out of the way.

Me at the store today, at the checkout thinking "Oh bother, I can carry all this, I guess I need to get a plastic bag". Came out of the store with my bag full of stuff, then realized the entire time I'd been holding my tote bag which I took with me SO I COULD USE IT TO CARRY MY GROCERIES!

I hope people properly appreciate the fact that I sometimes spend an entire hour researching something before I ultimately give up on replying to their post.

Scared to click like on a day old post about someone talking about how much they love their partner, in case there's a newer post where they say they just broke up.

"PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!"
Joke of the day from Moscow: Russia tried to unveil its first humanoid AI robot, Aidol. Key word: tried. The robot collapsed during its debut, forcing organizers to cut the presentation short. Their rushed attempt to lift the prop only made things worse.

Why the fuck did I think buying candy cane flavored dates was a good idea? I only like peppermint/mint candy for the crunch and there's no crunch in dates. It's like mushy, soaked candy cane. The flavor is there but the texture is so wrong. Zero stars for this idea.

Me and the peeps all agree that Frankenstein's monster in the new movie should just become a lead singer for a metal band and he'd fit right in.

Lol someone told our chatbot "Moooi" ("Hi" with extra 'o's) and the chatbot assumed they were Dutch because that's the name of a Dutch interior design and furniture company. Confusion followed.

Maybe the reason we can't have proper human rights is that we just don't have enough mascots for them.
Japan’s human rights mascots are Jin-KEN-Mamoru-kun and Jin-KEN-Ayumi-chan.

Boris Artzybasheff, a Ukrainian illustrator who immigrated to the US in 1919, was known for florid, grotesque explorations of surrealistic anthropomorphism, combining human and machine into fearsome, laboring hulks of metal & flesh.

These illustrations are from “Machinalia.”
