So I mostly don't notice my luteal phase when lifting until we get to bench press when SUDDENLY I am very aware of where I am in my menstrual cycle because I confidently go to bench a weight that was fine 2 weeks ago and then it just sits an inch above my boobs until someone does a rescue.

This takes 5 minutes. As a cis bisexual woman, I feel personally affected by this attack on trans people because I am frightened for people I love, and for my own rights when the people who did this smell blood in the water.

We believe the Supreme Court – which disgracefully refused to hear from trans people before its decision last week – has placed the UK in breach of its obligations under the Human Rights Act.

So we’re readying a challenge – join us:

URGENT: Following yesterday's public protests & our thread calling for everyone to contact their MP urgently here is some guidance on what you might say in an email.

This is not a time for thinking someone else will fix this. Please read, share and ACT!

URGENT ACTION: Write to your MP to protest the Supreme Court ruling and the EHRC's proposals to impose draconian bans on trans people from single-sex spaces.
The trans community is facing a major crisis in the UK after the Supreme Court ruled last week that for the purposes of The Equality Act 2010 sex should be classified as biological (i.e. as recorded a...

On top of this - if you are a teacher or a parent you need to *urgently* contact your schools and let them know you will not put up with the forced detransitioning or exclusion of trans students from school.

That is a major threat the EHRC has directed at young trans people.
Time is of the essence and we need to fight the EHRC interim guidance before it becomes statutory and Parliament make it law.

Don’t just shout about it, write to them. Also tell the media, if you can get them to care. I’ve posted this on Instagram.

Expect me to just keep resharing this as a reply to conversation about boycotts, shaming around not boycotting or not boycotting "enough" or "correctly," and various other wank. You should absolutely explore doing what you can do. But that is an INDIVIDUAL calculation.
Over on Whatever today, I've written a longish piece on billionaires and boycotts, how boycotts are effective (and are not), what to do when you don't feel you can boycott, and what to say when someone is telling you that you're not doing it right:

I think I've told this story before but in the penpals page of Metal Maniacs long ago there was an appeal for mail that said words to the effect of "the most metal among you die a poser if you don't support your brothers in prison." it stuck with me. a little goes a long way.
