Making an audiobook of our graphic design sourcebook for @blippo.plus was a real challenge—I had to write detailed descriptions of all the logos and design elements in the game, some of which are pretty oblique. It was a crash course in alt-text. I hope the end result is fun and accessible for all!
Also available in audiobook format from Apple, Barnes & Noble, Spotify, Bandcamp, and Libby, depending on your local library system!

Read by Giles Harvey (voice of CUBIS) and @theuniverse.bsky.social (writer of Blippo+).

Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Ian MacKaye and Brian Baker giving a talk at the MLK main library branch in Washington, DC to promote Brian's new book of photographs The Road.

They are funny guys who told great stories of their time in the music scene

The best @dcpubliclibrary.bsky.social is MLKjr, home of the DC Punk Archive. Today Ian Mackaye chatted for about an hour with former bandmate Brian Baker. They reminisced about their history together in #MinorThreat, their time spent as youths in DC, and promoting Brian’s new book #TheRoad.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Recorded on this day in 1978, The Feeding of the 5000, the first album by the anarcho-punk band Crass

A revolutionary album that was able to shine with anarchist political ideas and visions for the time

On this day in Wyrd Britain history...
1978 - #Crass recorded their debut album, 'The Feeding of the 5000'. One of the most completely realised debut records of it's era; it's sound and its themes quickly came to define its own sub-genre of punk, and its impact can still be felt today.

like a lot of 70s punk it can be hard to really hear what it might have sounded like in context but in the socal punk scene Crass jackets (homemade of course) were abundant and the slogans and iconography were wide-reaching

Racism in this country has always been overt. Never been a casual thing. Codified and as American as apple pie, they say.
It’s the technology spreading the message and platforming it at the speed of light that’s got us (some) spiraling into madness and disbelief.
