What happens if everyone just stops recording gender in the student information system. Just. Stop.
Look. Teachers in states with forced outing laws are going to have to make a choice to obey those laws or not. Complying means doing harm to trans kids, disobeying means risking their careers. It's awful and unfair. But it's what is, so decide what you can live with. There is no neutral option.

On the left, my image. On the right, the Al image that was clearly trained on, and designed to plagiarize, my image.

All Al generated imagery is inherently theft. It's unethical, environmentally disastrous, and does irreparable harm to both artists and society.

Nobody asked, but im absurdly proud to have found the source of the smell, which has been conquered. Spilled alkaline smart water in passenger seat which was growing mold. Smart water outsmarted.
Daughter’s car smells like hot garbage. No visual source inside the car. Anyone care to guess where and what I find when I start tearing it up?

And I—on the other side of the continuum—needed the New York Times to explain skibidi toilet to me.
I regret to inform you that I understand this.

I continue to hear from educators that social media is the problem with teen mental health, which is astonishing given that we are pushing teens out into a world they can’t survive in (college is unaffordable, rents are impossible, the environment is about to collapse, etc). But yeah it’s phones.
Okay so rise in pedestrian deaths, ADHD, decline in teen mental health - anything else we want to add to the list of things screens don't cause, or are we going to stay on the "teens don't deserve rights" train?

(We all know the answer)
New CDC data is out on youth mental health. Unsurprisingly, the biggest issues have nothing to do with social media. If only we could actually convince policymakers to invest in the actual problems that youth face. For a great topline look at the new data, see: www.sfchronicle.com/opinion/open...

It’s also about smelling the cow but this is 100% true.
Raw milk is one of those ideas that can really only take hold when people haven't seen a cow. if you see a cow from let's say ten feet or less you immediately understand the problem that pasteurization is solving

Yup that’s definitely it and not that time when the psychiatrist prescribed this new med for my kid that she felt really hopeful about and when I got to the pharmacy they told me it would be $1800 for month’s supply because they won’t cover it and I had to go into the parking lot and cry for a bit.
yes yes the problem is clearly Hollywood, very astute

They do this both directly and completely fucking indirectly with their obscene doctor to patient ratios that result in shitty care and a culture of patient blaming oh I can feel that rage scream starting.
It’s sad that the young man who killed the United ceo is becoming a symbol of resistance to corporate greed- but it’s sadder and grotesque and brutal that these corporate tyrannies routinely sentence people to death -
Single payer - now

People celebrating Luigi Mangione, the health care CEO assassin, need to understand that vigilante killings are not celebrated or in any way condoned in the United States. We are a civilized country that values the lives of its citizens.

If CEO killings become a trend watch how fast we get gun control.
Guns are the leading cause of death of children and teens in the United States.

I wish the establishment cared as much about their lives as they do CEOs.

Not sure anyone is even tracking the data on suicides connected with denied mental health care. Would love to know if there’s data on that.
NOBODY KNOWS just how many Americans per year are killed off by health insurance companies delaying and denying coverage because they DON’T SHARE THE DATA.
