I couldn’t care less about statues
I want a presidential candidate who promises to construct Union memorials and statues all over the country.

And yeah, North and South. Blanket Virginia with statues of Thomas, who actually chose the right side.

Hell, put one of Sherman in the middle of Peachtree Park.

The Democratic Party is so blatantly corrupt that the guy who's supposed to be a possible contender for the next president just allowed a campaign donor to get an exception to the minimum wage increase just for his businesses. Like tailored for the donor. Fuck the dems.

Biden declared COVID over and his strategy is "just get the booster!"

Great outreach there, man. What percentage of Americans get yearly boosters (like the flu shot) in the first place?
I wake to see a post that starts “Trump's COVID response is sufficient to never allow him to be President again…” and in the midst, the conversation only BARELY touches on the current administration (like an afterthought really) and I just want to pull my fucking hair out and scream.

Last year, workers took 20 sick days as Germany's economy shrank by 0.3%. A study suggests with less sick leave, the economy would have grown by 0.5%.

This is why the US wants to weaken COVID guidance despite no change in science. They want to risk worker health for the economy.

Duke is one of the wealthiest universities in the world, with an $11.6 billion endowment. Their head basketball coach was on a $12.5 million salary. But the Biology department can’t afford to maintain a herbarium.
sad news - Duke University decided to dump their herbarium, which has over 800,000 plant specimens, one of the largest among in America, and includes many type specimens of Lady Gaga ferns. What a shame. Please stop Duke admins for making this horrible mistake!!

Also, homeless people aren't stupid and may realize there's no permanent affordable housing at the end of the shelter system. That means if they take a shelter offer, in a couple months they may be back on the street, only this time without any belongings. Why would anyone agree to that?
There are MANY valid reasons for why a homeless person would reject a shelter offer:
- they may have to discard their belongings
- they may not be able to take a pet
- it may be a congregate shelter which can be loud and uncomfortable
- they may have had a previous bad experience with that shelter
SF city officials argue that homeless folks who reject shelter offers are voluntarily homeless and therefore deserve to have all their belongings destroyed . This is related to a federal suit against the city as well as a civil out of Grants Pass, OR.
