Catkins, March 2025
A lovely theme for Y, thanks Sheena!
The name "catkins" comes from a Dutch word for "kitten," because of their resemblance to a cat's tail. This takes me back to a mild Spring season.

“When it's Spring again I'll bring again
Tulips from Amsterdam”
1958 pop hit.

I bought tulips for the house to cheer us up. A warm reminder of Spring. (Yes, they are from Holland but I’m not sure if they came via Amsterdam.)

The magnificent Jesse Window in the village church at Llanrhaeadr, near #Denbigh. It's thought to date from the early 16th century and may have been lifted from Basingwerk Abbey in #Flintshire at the time of its Dissolution. The most complete #medieval window in North #Wales.

I really dislike knitting cardigans. So much prefer knitting in the round and absolutely hate steeking. Yet, I've made a few. Like this sheep cardi combining cables and stranded colourwork. Handspun wool. Even made the buttons myself.

I wish I could get a decent photo of my WIP to show you the colour of this yarn as it’s so beautiful
