Spot. Fucking. ON.
Unlearning this is vital to having or accepting ANY kind of accountability.
It never fails to break my brain how Americans act like a person, a nation, a culture must be only and immutably villain or victim. 🧵

I am too full of love to be this inconvenienced. (i.e. I should not have scheduled a dental cleaning and a car diagnostic on the same work day, right after helping a friend move, what the fuck was I thinking?)

This is confirmation of what I keep saying (& arguing with scared centrist Dems about): progressives CAN AND DO win when they appeal to voters who would normally stay home instead of chasing the center. This is the blueprint.
The next challenge: deliver for them. Build trust. Do it again.
Zohran didn't win by relying on standard turnout patterns. We had to fundamentally transform the Democratic electorate.

I was part of a group of NYC-DSA members that applied lessons from our previous campaigns to design the “universe” of voters to talk to. Here's how we won 🧵

THE FLOP ERA IS OVER.
THE 7-2 ERA IS OVER.
Two DSA members on the city council and no more Boggiano falling asleep in meetings.
Still going to give 'em hell and make sure they live up to the promises they've made, but things look a little bit brighter.

Disappointed to see this. 160 union workers are fighting for a fair contract at Individualized Shirts, a US factory that makes high-end men's button-ups. The managers there have rejected the union's request for fair wages and health insurance. The union is asking for support 🧵

Waiting on some news about a car repair and making chimichurri cubes. This is how much parsley I started with.

Voted! And then promptly had to pick up the cat to keep her from running down the stairs, and remove my sticker from her fur.
I have a feeling big change is coming to City Hall, but some things never change.

there’s a scene in the new documentary where Elizabeth Taylor is talking about the stigma of AIDS and how she got involved in the movement and it’s fucking everything

Passing "circle one: yes / no / maybe" notes, only instead of "do you like me?" the question is "is limerence a one-person cult that you build for yourself?"

After the last few years of legendary war criminals dying comfortably in their 80s-90s having faced zero consequences, I'm not confident that repercussions will come for the current set. And I know federal and international law will not save us.
But damned if I don't want to see #hagueseth trending.

This is why trans people are afraid to seek medical care for even non-gender-related conditions: you never know when a healthcare provider you trust might pull something like this.
When we say "the trans agenda is an average life expectancy" we also mean fighting medical discrimination.

Okay, I'm putting a pin in this one because it is 900% a larp meme.
if elon musk had a butler he wouldn't be spending all day online posting about trying to get grok to make a girlfriend for him, he'd be laying on the ground with jarvis spooning him, cradling his head gently

Small Business Saturday drop? Listed. Floors? Clean. Closet hardware installation? Finished. Allergy attack & sinus headache? Still in progress.

The closet re-do isn't particularly interesting, just more stable (new brackets and endcaps). However, I cannot say the same for myself.

Okay, I'm giving Etsy and the seasonal grind one more try. If this doesn't work, I'm going to focus more on in-person vending, because this digital treadmill is not why I got into jewelry.

Got all my outside errands done before 1 PM and promptly stepped in dog shit unloading the car. So now I guess I can add "power washed dog shit off my Sambas with the garden hose" to the list of things I accomplished today. 🫠

So overwhelmed by my fabric stash that I'm considering making my own boxer shorts.
But then again, why SHOULDN'T I have custom underthings in cute prints?

Just @ my cat while you're at it, damn.
I love it when little garbage cats develop the luxury of food snobbery. Yes he was tiny wet ball of fleas found in a ditch but now he's a velvet prince who wants the premium, organic, grain-free chicken in gravy, NOT the premium, organic, grain-free chicken au jus how dare you offer that garbage.

The "pie" can also be a verb if you're sufficiently determined, and within range of Anita Bryant.
Did not realize the "Punch" in "Punch and pie" was a verb

It's so fucking bleak when you start feeling mildly guilty for your privilege, and that privilege is the ability to handle an expected furlough from work and an unexpected car repair without having to set up a crowdfund.
