🚨 Outrage as 20 police officers break into Westminster Quaker Meeting House and arrest six. 🚨
This shocking violation of a place of worship is a direct result of crackdowns on protest and dissent - freedom of speech, assembly and democracy are at risk.🕊️

Guest of Honour: Suniti Namjoshi is the writer of fabulous fables. If you haven't picked up any of her work, now is the time to do so. You can find a list over at wikipedia.

Here we subject her to some trivia.

There’s a reason we’ve been trying to make people aware about the lethal consequences of ableism for so long. It’s one of the first biases people default to when they feel threatened, and the (esp. multiply-marginalized) disabled community often becomes the first targeted by dangerous escalation.
This is probably not a surprise to people in the disability community, and I apologize for my ignorance about it, but I have been genuinely surprised how much immediate government wrath is going towards people in the disability community

A fascinating interview with @annasmithspark.bsky.social about folklore, oral storyelling, how these things can make their way into fantasy, and quite a bit more. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that someone who writes exceptional stories was immersed in them growing up.
