Cruel. Callous. Cowardly.

The public are seeing this Labour government for exactly who they are.

We all have a responsibility to make them pay at the ballot box.

Reject the hate. Reject them.

This is not who we are. Let's make hope normal again.

This is such a strong performance agonist an interviewer who initially received each response with incredulity. The continued conviction and authenticity of Zack’s answers really made Trevor Phillips look a bit silly. Hopefully he felt silly too.

Oh god , the chancellor is making “difficult decisions” again… so the wealthy will be fine, life will get more expensive for everyone else, and services will continue to disintegrate.

Good thread on how a big part of the problem of British politics is big media figures with no real interest in being across the details.
Peston tells Lam that she said something that he "genuinely didn't understand". "But who are these people who came legally who should leave?"

This does not look like faux naivety.
He should know the answer!

She misleads in her answer to him.
So he gives a misleading summary of her policy on air.

Indeed. Government's proposed ILR changes are wrong morally & politically - that is the main point.

But from purely *economic* perspective, they're likely to be self-defeating - the migrants most likely to be deterred from coming/staying are high-skilled/high-paid, because they have other options!
Huh. If you say you’ll mess with indefinite leave to remain rules it turns out talented migrant workers start looking at their other options. This could never have been predicted!
