Our neighbors across the street are standing in their driveway staring up at the sky. Crows are yelling somewhere out of sight. What in the folk horror is going on today?

A billion dollars is an immoral consequence of doing business in the way prescribed by society at large. It is necessarily exploitative and evil, and any decent person would actually give that money away before getting there.

He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

Reading a book on Neanderthals, I was particularly drawn to its depiction of the Eemian interglacial (marine isotope stage 5e). Warm forests, high sea levels, macaques and elephants in northern Europe. It would certainly make for an interesting Spear & Fang setting.

I was a stay-at-home parent for nine years. Sometimes I miss when my teen was little. Not enough to want another kid, but enough to wish I had community and could, like, babysit for a friend once or twice a month.
