Democratic Party politics as usual. Not good enough. The Democratic Party leaders’ choice for a key 2026 Senate race has spent six years vetoing collective bargaining rights, wealth taxes, renter protections, and tribal sovereignty protections.

Remember this iconic photo from Ferguson? This is Edward Crawford, throwing back a tear gas canister to protect some nearby kids.

Like many identified Ferguson protesters and organizers, he was "found dead" a couple years later and neither the cops nor the media will ever investigate.

"A report by economists at American University in Washington DC estimates that a 50% reduction in federal science funding would reduce the US gross domestic product by approximately 7.6%."

Science is an amazing engine of economic activity and progress for the US ... or at least it was.
Staff members at the US National Science Foundation (NSF) were told on 30 April to “stop awarding all funding actions until further notice,” according to an email seen by Nature.

The thing about scientific research is that it’s one of the few national investments that’s a clear public good even if you entirely discount the actual ostensible point of it.
New report shows that NIH grants fueled $95 billion in economic activity and 407,782 jobs in 2024.

That's not to mention the countless lives that biomedical research has saved.

Show me a better investment than that.

we're really not going to recover from this and go back to some "normal." even if we survive this round, we've made it abundantly clear that every four years there's a valid possibility that dumbass magas may tank everything. we are not to be trusted.
there is no reason other countries should ever trust us again. we're the psychotic neighbor who might start acting normally again at some point but we've made it clear we are ready to elect lunatics at any point in the future.
