As many have pointed out, Mamdani didn't stand apart from our trans brothers and sisters. He didn't play the "Gee, gosh, it sure is complicated," milquetoast moderate card. And he crushed.

We turned our light off hours ago, but they’re still coming to our door, quietly begging. I think they like the flicker of our Jack-o’-lanterns. I can hear them murmuring as they work their fingers along the window casing. Ten hours till morning.
