It’s deeply encouraging to see footage of hostages reuniting with their families and to see Israeli forces withdrawing from Gaza.
There are obviously many more steps to achieving a lasting peace but today’s developments should give us all a profound sense of hope.

Had the great pleasure of hearing Melissa and Badiucao in conversation at the @wendemuseum.bsky.social in Los Angeles. Educational, inspirational and thought provoking. Important voices in these moments.
It's usually "activists" in the US and "dissidents" in China and Russia — underscoring a difference between resistance in a democracy versus autocracies. Earlier this year @badiucao.bsky.social and I were on @msnbc.com with @velshi.com discussing dystopia, fascism. This clip feels apt to share now.
