This is gross and inhumane. Full stop.
This is an executive order that lays the groundwork for sending homeless people and people with mental illness to concentration camps to be "civilly committed." It was never going to stop with immigrants.

This is horrifying beyond words.

Got a preview of what cuts to Social Security office and phone hours will look like. Our local housing authority required all residents to come in person to sign a new form during a 3 day span with office hours of 8:30-11am, and the line of elderly disabled people was disheartening.

If you need a place to start explaining to people why NIH is so important, and how rigorous its reviews already are, this is perfect. Thank you @pamherd.bsky.social.

Every time you see what sounds like a wild claim about woke research, you can assume a) it will fall apart under the most basic of inspection, b) the person making the claim will never be held accountable for lying, and c) it is a cover to gut useful research that we benefit from.
Trump claimed the Biden administration spent $8 million "making mice transgender." The White House tried to back up this number with records of funding for research into cancer, asthma, and HIV, some of which used *transgenic* (genetically modified) mice.
Trump Decried Millions Spent 'Making Mice Transgender.' It Was Cancer and Asthma Research
President Trump falsely claimed that Biden spent $8 million on 'making mice transgender,' but the real research was for human health.

YOUR FAVORITE WEATHER APP IS JUST A PRETTY DISPLAY OF NOAA DATA

Ppl seem to think that "NOAA weather forecasts" means climate-, boat-, or "in addition to my app"-weather. But the weather forecasts *we all use* are made from the NOAA data *we all paid for*

Make that part clear when you ⬇️
I’m thinking we should spread this news about the firings at NOAA as far and wide as possible. Like cancer research, weather forecasting seems likely to be broadly popular across the political spectrum. apnews.com/article/nati...
Hundreds of weather forecasters fired in latest wave of DOGE cuts
Federal workers who were not let go said the afternoon layoffs included meteorologists who do crucial local forecasts in National Weather Service offices across the U.S.

The committee on Science, Space, and Technology are collecting testimony of Federal employees fired in the past days. Please share with your colleagues and friends. The more testimony, the better we can argue against this injustice.

Hagan Scotten’s letter is excellent and only one page long. Read it! Send it around!
The lead prosecutor in the Eric Adams case has resigned over DOJ's order that the case be dismissed.

"I expect you will eventually find someone who will be enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me."

A good response by every DC Dem when asked about the latest bathroom ban would be: "If Republicans gave a single flying damn about women's safety, they would do everything in their power to make sure Matt Gaetz never becomes Attorney General of the United States."

That's it, that's the response.
Love to ban trans women from capitol restrooms in order to “protect women and girls” while suppressing a report about the incoming attorney general paying for the statutory rape of a minor while in congress and showing women’s nudes on the House floor
