Alcatraz is a crumbling ruin and, being an island, would be really costly to rebuild, to say nothing of prisoner transport. Talk about waste and abuse!

I was a chair of our neighborhood council in one of the earlier iterations. The NSCs were a lifeline for neighborhoods, and it’s sad to see them go.
