Devastated. Outside of consistently hearing him be very pro-player and anti-shitty corporate practices I can’t speak to Vince professionally, but personally he was such a down to earth, funny, warm person. The industry already feels far less bright without him.

it took me awhile to realize this but when I ask my 10yo semi verbal autistic daughter how her day was she'll sometimes do the David Byrne "same as it ever was" gesture from the Once in a Lifetime video to let me know nothing important happened and I fucking love that

We're seeing a massive schism between games made by old teams with a lot of practice, like Nintendo or FromSoft, games made by contracted people who will be fired, like everybody at Microsoft, and the weird in between of talented people forming new companies they quit in order to not get fired.
DK Bananza is the most wonderfully depressing game. It’s clearly the work of lifelong game developers mentoring novices and it’s the kind of game we’d have a lot more of if game publishers actually let game development be a stable, life-long career for people.

I finished Expedition 33 last night and have been thinking about it all day. Just an incredible experience. Did all the optional content too. Top of my personal GOTY list so far.

I finished Expedition 33 last night and have been thinking about it all day. Just an incredible experience. Did all the optional content too. Top of my personal GOTY list so far.
