And if you’re born with a chronic condition, have an accident, whatever - you are no less entitled to care than anyone else.

Single payer systems work and produce better outcomes for less money than what we have now
Markwayne Mullin on healthcare: "What the president would like to do is say, hey, if you take care of yourself -- you don't smoke, you don't dip, you're not drinking, you're not overweight, you're working out -- then you should pay less than the guy that obviously is not taking care of himself."

Biden had a bad debate performance and got ran out of the race. The double standard really needs to be studied.

This is the point! Authoritarians believe they *are* the law.

MAGA backs trump for exactly this reason: they want to be so powerful that they aren't held accountable, just like him.

They like that teflon don has openly broken the law and as yet evaded justice.
The draft dodging idiot posted a pic of this West Point plaque. It contains these words:

“Our American Code of Military Obedience requires that, should orders and the law ever conflict, our officers must obey the law.”

That is precisely what Senator Mark Kelly told officers to do. #NoSedition

Soft power is how we "won" the cold war.

If we aren't providing practical, material help, someone else might, and that is how extremist groups gain popularity and recruit.

I stand with Sen. Mark Kelly.

To all active and retired US Military members: Defy illegal orders. Defy Unconstitutional orders. When you swore an oath, you were not reciting a poem – you were making a commitment.

It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

Most of us have no idea how bad it is inside ICE detention centers because they have kept it hidden. Then a truth teller shows up and says it plain.

The conditions are filthy. The treatment is inhumane. The abuse is Systematic and routine.

Swiss officials gave Trump a special Rolex desk clock and a 1 kilogram gold bar and he gave them lower tariffs. Unprecedentedly corrupt.

The founders were so concerned about bribery that the Constitution forbids it three different times. Two emoluments clauses and an impeachable offense.

"It is unconscionable that what we are debating right now is legislation that will give 8 members of the United States Senate over $1,000,000 a piece and we are robbing people of their food assistance and healthcare to pay for it. How is this even on the floor!?"

This Veterans Day, I’m thinking of the millions of Americans who have served in uniform — and how our government is failing them right now.

Words aren’t enough, we need actions. Fund the VA. Fund mental healthcare. And end endless wars.

“Did women ruin the workplace?” is of course wildly misogynistic. But beyond that, this framing assumes the nostalgic version of “the workplace” was good and awesome and worth maintaining. I hope women have ruined the workplace. Let’s go, girls!

If only people were paid according to the value and profit they create instead of how replaceable CEOs think they are.

No CEO or shareholder should make more than 100X what their lowest paid employee makes.
It's never too late to grasp that if someone works full-time and receives SNAP, it means YOUR taxpayer dollars are subsidizing the COMPANY because it refuses to pay them a livable wage.

City people are more progressive because they see government infrastructure working for people every day.

Rural people are more conservative because they don't see 'the government' they see *their neighbors* doing this work whether taxes paid for it or not.

1/84659 reasons
It shouldn’t be forgotten that a big piece of Mamdani’s campaign was simply “cities are cool and lots of people enjoy living in them” which in and of itself dismantles alot of rightwing talking points

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

A witness in our case had ICE reject all her documents after using facial rec on her.

For her, tho, it seemed like nothing could make them accept that she has a right to be here.

Either way, a gov policy of not trusting gov-issued docs is going to violate lots of people's rights.

If SNAP benefits vanished tomorrow, feeding 42 million Americans for a month would cost about $7.8 billion. That’s less than 1% of the combined net worth of the three richest men in the U.S. A reminder of how obscene inequality has become and how easily hunger could be solved if we chose to.
