White folks:
I cannot stress enough that if a space, ANY space (organizing, fun, etc.), is too white, even if it says it’s BIPOC safe, a lot of BIPOC folks won’t come back a second time without there being significant impetus to keep coming back.

Like being here is nice for trans* safety and less harassment in general but like,, for most of last year this site was like 2% Black, dunno where it sits now.
I’ve lost so many BIPOC moots who left twitter for here and then when here was also hella white/racist they just.. left the net mostly :/

My periodic reminder that Kentucky has a quite good community college system and you can take very decent world history survey courses completely online for ~$600.
I was a swot and I really liked history, studied it to the age of 18. And I can clearly remember reading about British occupation in the Middle East at university and being all 'THIS IS BRAND NEW INFORMATION'.
And I'm sorry, but I can't help feeling the glaring omissions are quite deliberate.
