You could substitute so many Labour initiatives for "Motability cuts" and this headline would still make sense. What a tragedy this Government is.

Less comfortable for genocide-supporting Zionists is not the same thing as less safe for Jewish people. And the equation of Zionism with Judaism is itself antisemitic.

#BakeOff Gothic
You pull off the gingham, there is a chicken that might lay some time today, and some wheat. A grindstone, some milk and a small churn. A foot of sugar cane.

The timer says 90 minutes.

The instructions say "do a brioche".

If anyone doubted the bellends in power were still owned by the petrochemical industry, taxing EVs harder than polluter cars should settle it.

Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

Today's particular language hatepost.

Absolutely pervasive, inexplicable, and dreadful abuse of "as" in news site headlines and links creating completely nonsensical timelines.

Hatehatehate and I don't care if that makes me a proscriptivist, I don't care anymore at all.

Chickens coming home to roost: Businesses, especially in tech where the GenAI brainrot has really taken root, arw starting to suffer along with the rest of us as the AI data centres consume all the online bandwidth, and are about to run into a big hardware cost hike as they've bought up all the RAM.

I wish the fact that were used to seeing Amnesty call out human rights abuses in far-flung dictatorships and warzones would mean that seeing them focus on our own shores would shock some people into a reassessment . But we don't live in a universe where more than one or two bigots a year do that.
Twenty-two years ago today Section 28 was repealed.

But we're seeing history repeat itself as some in the media and in politics spread bigotry and misinformation about trans people.

The Labour Government reeling off the same far-right talking points on immigration. And look who is celebrating. The far-right.

There is a political alternative that won’t ever scapegoat those fleeing war, persecution and torture

Labour are sick, sick, sick. Beyond redemption. Let the party sink below the waves and give it the middle finger as it drops.

Fuck the Labour Party. Never vote Labour again.
How does this promote integration? Stability? Mental health?

In what world is it ok to make asylum seekers permanently afraid of a knock on the door?

Labour are sick. Certainly no better than the Tories were. And arguably worse, because they SHOULD be better!

To anyone still paying membership fees to the Labour Party.

I'm an immigrant. Please don't talk to me all smiles, friendly and respectful while you're paying for these nasty racists and their nasty racist policies.

You are a hypocrite and my enemy.

Appeasing the far-right gives the broader public the impression that their narrative is true. There is no way to stem support for Reform by endorsing their policies. Either you are fighting against them or you are, regardless of how you see yourself, fighting for them.

All these U turns on their "tough decisions" makes me wonder if Starmer is actually botching a Feyd and Rabban style bait and switch. In Dune, Rabban is there to be brutal and and hated, and then at the last Minute the Baron would get rid of him and Feyd would take over and be kinder and be loved.

Interesting. Further to my observation, Starmer and Streeting may have made a pact that the leadership blowout isn't happening now, but Milliband is definitely positioning himself as the grown-up in the room for when it does.

Labour might be able to begin to redeem itself if he pulls it off.
