I’m trying to work on a cozy magic school WIP to distract myself from the horrors of reality and the stress of my personal life, but tell me why I keep wanting to up the stakes anyway 😂

I got laid off two weeks ago and I always thought that if I just didn’t have a day job to take up my time, I could finally write regularly, but it turns out burnout doesn’t go away overnight. Weird!

I didn’t hit this goal 100% but have been making a lot of progress!
For writing I have gotten to a really good consistency point, and worked out a pattern where I write the main project on weekdays and random shiny new ideas on weekends. I think that has helped my writing the most.

I wasted so much time thinking I’d write faster if I became a plotter.
Unfortunately plotting out every story point means I won’t write at all lol.
Finding happy medium where I know the ending and some major plot points but leaving the rest up to discovery and it’s the most I’ve written in a while

I crossed 10k in this WIP after picking at it with a few hundred words here and there. The floodgates opened and I wrote 2k yesterday.
And then this morning, I woke up feeling like I couldn't write and I was The Worst Writer Who Ever Lived.
Reread it and things were not as bad as they seemed 😅
