Rereading (listening ) to Blood Meridian makes my long for books with punctuation and less run on sentences. (Does the narrator not take any breaths?)

And relatedly Careless People (book about Fb) made me such more anxious than bloodshed and murder.

The Tesla appointee wants to hook up SSNs (and presumably other admin data) via APIs to your Logingov account.

For better or worse most of the data the federal gov has on you is very siloed (& often then bought back), this would create new infosec risks & ventures closer to a National ID.
New from 404 Media: inside the gov meeting where Musk ally laid out plans for data sharing across gov/AI. We got audio. In the call an employee pushed back and said the plan would be “illegal.” Musk ally said “we should still push forward and see what we can do.” www.404media.co/things-are-g...

The thing about blocking a jerk without otherwise engaging them is that an hour later you will have forgotten about them entirely; nothing about them will have stuck in your memory at all. There's not even a blank spot. It's simply as if they never existed in your space at all. It's delightful.
MAGA is going to chase you over here. They'll chase you where ever you go on social media. They can't survive without making you miserable. Why do you think Truth social failed? They need conflict. Don't give it to them and don't engage. Bluesky has amazing block functions. Block them into the void.
The slow trickle of MAGA folks over here underscores how much their experience of online is entirely dependent on people getting mad at them. It also underscores how even they, given the option, would rather not hang out with themselves either.

No more nightmare inducing robots for kids. Diarrhea pizza still on the menu though.
Chuck E. Cheese will phase out its endearing and nostalgia-inducing, if perhaps slightly creepy, animatronic band performances at all but two of the chain’s more than 400 locations in the U.S. by the end of 2024. nyti.ms/4dMl1IK
