I’ve been super negative today. To restore balance, let me share an old picture of my cat nephew, Deacon. One of the best cats I’ve ever known.

Fucking adore walking into Best Buy and asking for a Wacom drawing tablet and being looked at like I’m some kind of dinosaur, which I probably am. I still don’t know if they don’t have it or if I just failed to communicate what I’m looking for.

So apparently 2 horrible paintings I spent 3 miserable days working on last week were SUPPOSED to be canceled, but I never got the email from That One Coworker letting me know.

Did the email mysteriously get lost en route? Or did he forget to send it altogether?

Doesn’t matter. 3 days wasted.

GenAI has polluted image search results, especially for animal pics. It’s now basically impossible to find accurate art references.

Enter this: a repository of open-access, AI-free images of wild & exotic taxa. Artists creating *without AI* have blanket permission for derivative/transformative use.

Me: Defining people by what decade they were born in is so silly, generations are a fake concept
Also me, turning up the car radio: AND I DON’T WANT THE WORLD TO SEE ME, ‘CAUSE I DON’T THINK THAT THEY’D UNDERSTAND, WHEN EVERYTHING’S MADE TO BE BROKEN—

Arta playing with baby brother Voyd.

She doesn’t always love having a house full of younger siblings… but she loves her younger siblings.

Just spent an invigorating 45 minutes thinking The Bitty had slipped outside and was gone forever, because I could not find her ANYWHERE. Not under furniture, not in closets. She didn’t come out when I rattled her food bin, for crying out loud. Only when I involved my husband did she materialize.

I wish I still had my old animation textbooks. I don’t even know where they are. I probably sold them to buy food. Being an animation major was a dark time in my life.

I have planned to go to an arts-and-crafts meetup at a local coffee shop after work, in a rare attempt to meet people and make friends. But it’s all cold and drizzly. And my husband is sad and needs cuddles. And I am tempted to chicken out.

10 years ago, I made these sculptures of Arta and Osifa!

I left them with my ex and movers squished them while they were moving him and The Other Woman into their new place.

SO! I guess I should remake them with their updated design! Arta was nowhere near plump enough, anyway.

It needs to be said more often that the world is a better, more beautiful and more enriching place BECAUSE trans people are a part of it.

All I want for Christmas is for my Boomer coworkers and clients to read my emails before calling me.

My therapist has helped me with little things as well as little things. Last session, she helped me realize the reason why I come away from phone calls with That One Coworker feeling so frazzled. It’s not just because I hate him, which, Christ help me, I do.

The second Biscuit Makers' Union poster follows the workers of biscuit making from "from field to tummy." This journey is depicted literally in the poster: starting with farm fields, through harvest, and production. A closer look at the bottom reveals a fleet of trucks ready to deliver biscuits...

Saw some gig posters using Ai and that’s no good. Gig posters are a lot of artists first gig, they’re fucking with the ecosystem of students getting £20 so I’m making stickers because thermal label printers are our cheapest propaganda tool

The Bitty is so snuggly, but she also looks so smug in every picture I take of her. Smuggly?

That quote is basically a hammer to keep paying people in the arts less and less.

Its been used against cooks at least my entire fucking life.

Shit makes me so violently mad, any time someone thinks my job is "fun" I remind them I think their job is "Easy as Piss"
"do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life" is some BULLSHIT that was said by someone who did NOT love what they do
