Ok ok ok I just made one of the coolest things I’ve ever done, very different from my usual stuff, and it was mostly an accident.

More games should have a cowardly baby mode. More games should let me suffer less consequences for dying or mistakes. Should have a "I just want the story" mode. Games should not pride themselves on "look how difficult we are".

My coworker is now working from home, and I am tasked with getting her set up with the software and permissions she will need. It’s difficult, because she’s not at all tech-savvy. The thing is, NEITHER AM I. I am an idiot. But she gets a pass, because she’s older.

This is pretty cool! Interestingly, it placed me in a diffuse area on the outskirts of the fantasy & sci-fi writers, instead of in or near a cluster of artists.

Democratizing the arts looks like universal income, low-barrier grants for both emerging and working artists, well-funded municipal arts & recreation programs, vibrant third spaces, and a well-funded public school system with progressive curriculum.

Years ago for #Ha-Nahn I painted this piece called Borderland Scout. But the border scouts of Ha-Nahn are so markedly different from any border guards in our world. They're not there to keep people from moving across nations but rather aid travelers in need, alert about dangers/monsters etc.

FB just reminded me of a friend’s (acquaintance’s) birthday, and THAT reminded me that they ghosted me halfway through a commission, stiffing me out of the second half of payment.
It hurt to remember that, and not because of the money, or even the perceived insult to my art.
