I read #ocsky as #orcsky and honestly that’s a pretty good idea

The platform is less shopper-friendly to navigate, but a lot of artists I follow have been switching to Ko-Fi.

It infuriates me to think of trying to imprison the memory of my magnificent grandmother like this.

We were all dumb college kids who didn’t know what we’d be doing in 6 months’ time. We didn’t need to own a house. Those landlords gave us the flexibility we needed when careers or life circumstances changed suddenly (like when I moved to Seattle to marry an idiot). But also a home, in the meantime.

They sent us fruit baskets, bottles of wine, and even ~an entire Thanksgiving dinner~ once. They treated us like family, even though housemates were in and out. You’d best bet we took the best care of the place we could, and rent was never a day late.

I had one in college. An older couple. They rented an excellent, fully-furnished house in a safe neighborhood for cheaper than some crummy apartments. They included utilities, because it was “easier.” When we got a flea infestation, they arranged and paid for treatment.

I liked the way alternate timelines were handled in Some Desperate Glory. I don’t always love the trope.

I might say fuck it and go back to being a barista. Nothing matters anyway.

It looks like a fucking Impressionist painting. It looks better than what I could do. Better colors, more expressive brushstrokes, chunkier paint texture.

I’m more afraid for my job than I ever have been. This plus my boss dying. Also my coworker, the only other painter, is retiring.

All I know is that it looks… weirdly great. Balanced color scheme, good texture, right number of fingers and toes, no weird artifacting. Worst I can say about it is that the shadow is maybe not the right shape, and the sun should be in a slightly different place for the lighting to be accurate.

Lab manager just forwarded me some images from a client and it looks like she was able to do just that—combine the figures from a portrait photo with the style, color scheme, and background from a reference painting. I don’t know what she used and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with it.
