I don’t think this is necessarily right, though I haven’t researched the issue. The 4th Amendment provides “that the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated . . . .”

It’s not a border crisis, it’s a crisis I of people being driven from their homes by conditions that the U.S. is deeply involved in creating. We could and should build badass popular transborder movements to change these conditions, not capitulate to bullshit right-wing anti-migrant frames.

It is really nuts. On climate issues alone, anyone who isn’t actively working to change everything is essentially pro-mass-death and we’re supposed to consider them the adults in the room.
A big part of the problem with the Election Takes is the infantalization of idealism and the adultification of moderation.

In general, I think pathetic-ness as a concept probably explains the election results better than anything. It’s cross-cutting. Being pathetic demoralizes the base while also convincing the incoherent center NOT to vote for you.
