The team whose honour Britain’s largest political parties and newspapers just spent weeks screaming abuse at *the police* to protect, just while we’re talking about our politics as maybe the world’s most insulting, disastrous and idiotic.

⚡📮Nice work @royal-mail.bsky.social, who have just announced the launch of a new fleet of over 100 micro electric vehicles, replacing 52 vans.

Better for the climate and for deliveries. This is exactly the kind of move we need to see for cities free of diesel vans!

I am a political extremist in that i think it's a bad idea to give away decades of the most detailed medical database on earth to an ai surveillance company whose UK branch is run by the grandson of the most famous british fascist. If I were a politician, I would think those optics were bad.
A reminder that one of Wes Streeting's junior ministers is talking enthusiastically about 'cashing in' on NHS data (www.ft.com/content/0531...).

When the UK's new nuclear power plant Hinkley Point C starts to produce power in 2030, its guaranteed 'strike price' will have risen to ~150 £/MWh (170 €/MWh). Average wholesale electricity prices will probably be around half of that, so that's a 50% subsidy.

Deploying carbon removal tech in the UK faces significant uncertainty, with high costs and delays.

The UK risks overrelying on this tech to decarbonise. Focusing on proven methods – like renewables and heat pumps – should be the priority in the next decade.

Oil, gas and coal companies aren't interested in renewable energy – except as a smokescreen to continue polluting
Fossil fuel companies say they support the energy transition. New numbers suggest otherwise.
A new study shows that fossil fuel companies own less than 2 percent of renewable energy projects worldwide.
