As the ~discourse~ seems to bend interminably towards Republicans trying to figure out how they can (further) HDHP-ify ACA coverage, it's worth revisiting what is probably our best (most rigorous) study on the effect of deductibles in health insurance.

So IDK UK law quite well enough to know, but my general impression is he'd be sorry AF if he did bc the factual case that would emerge is far worse than what Beeb reported....even if he won.
Trump is threatening to sue the BBC for $1 billion over the documentary about him.

Trying to control a media outlet by bullying. Worked in the US where all the craven media capitulated. Will it work in the UK?

Rather unfortunately this I think....
The problem is that while people here interpreted Tuesday as a vindication of the shutdown strategy, senators probably interpreted it as a uniform swing against the incumbent president's party. In other words, they saw the win as a sign that they're set up to win the midterms regardless.

Fun memories, playing Hammerstein w/ 4 Tops... Way before 06 tho...
November 9, 2006: British rocker David Bowie performs on stage for the final time - three songs at a charity concert in New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom: "Wild Is the Wind", "Fantastic Voyage", and a duet of "Changes" with Alicia Keys.

Hey just a reminder that it only takes 23 Senate Democrats to remove and replace Chuck Schumer as minority leader. They don't do it because the majority of Senate Democrats approve of the way he does politics.

Feels better to yell at your Senator's residence in person. Ask me how I know...
Never forget: every time you turn out to protest, you have a chance to see a cool dog.

All across America last week, Dems showed up and generally kicked the piss out of the Republicans who are hellbent on destroying our country and our freedoms.

To have a bunch of squishy, out of touch Senators completely sell us out just as the Republicans were starting to crack sucks.

Must-read story from @davecolon.bsky.social on the future renovation of NYC’s Penn Station, which could involve a public-private partnership deal that fleeces riders to pay for an extravagant and unnecessary palace if the deal and structure are designed without the public’s best interest in mind.

This.
if I were a senator retiring I would be ungovernable and would be making legacy content (laudatory) instead of legacy content (derogatory)

The original Dem demands were:
1) Permanent ACA subsidies
2) Medicaid funding restored
3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission)

They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today.

The Senate Democrats!

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Fuck yes. THIS!!!!!!
I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.

So it's not been much discussed but uh, FAA is not sharing data for this decision with airlines and well, airlines are kinda skeptical to say the least...there are lines, read between them lol viewfromthewing.com/airline-exec...

Yes this please, a big failure of ditching 50 state strategy is local candidates are your most important source of IRL data for national campaigns, not consultants. It's ok for different places to have different needs.
Am I the only person who thinks this is great? Like, “yes, we should have a variety of candidates in primaries. Let’s stop being afraid of what Fox News is going to say, they are going to say it anyway.”

Possibly the inadvertent best argument for using ChatGPT lol! Bankrupt those fools.
“Every person using ChatGPT costs OpenAI more money then they pay them. Every free and paying user asking how to make a fluffy omelette or getting it to draft an email to their kid's teacher drains their resources.”

Haven't checked the rest but you will be proud I eagle-eyed the most expensive (or appalled, I do have a bad habit that way) @amandaweavernovels.com
Here are four overcoats.

— Which do you think is the most expensive?
— Which do you think is the least expensive?
— Which do you think provides the best value?

Answer below. Tomorrow, I will show what you get as you climb up the price ladder for overcoats.

Dear Canada I appreciate you have your own politicians but it is confusing when your anti bike politico has same name as giant worldwide car manufacturer. On behalf of the rest of the world, could you get him to change it? K thx! (Yes FFS this is just humour. Only take bike lane stuff srsly thx)
