I’d love to see a Slow Horses ‘period’ spin-off with a young Jackson Lamb operating in the field during the Cold War. A new Bond should absolutely be set currently and have him exposing Izraeli spy-rings & terror!zm.
If I wanted to make the new Bond its own thing, I'd go vintage. Cold War era spy antics. No need to worry about continuity if we're back in the past.
No over-arcing plot, just standalone adventures. That way they could be seen as the missions we never got to see.
