Pathetic and depressing how dishonest the framing is. The vast majority who oppose this aren’t NIMBYs? This definitionally isn’t our backyard? The problem is he’s tearing down a national symbol on an autocratic whim, building a palace overtop it, naming it for himself, and funding it with bribes.
The Washington Post editorial section hit rock bottom and just kept digging.

Avian Influenza is scary, but we have the tools to deal with it. Our research showed that current biosecurity options effectively reduce risk of outbreaks on farms. This is a wild to domestic disease, very difficult to anticipate, so having biosecurity in place before arrival in an area is crucial.

One of the greatest errors in K-12 education, in my opinion, is prioritizing trigonometry and calculus over statistics. Yes, trig and calc are important for many professions. Statistics are important for literacy.
