I've known a lot of PhDs, including many who went on to tenure track jobs. NONE were swamped with interview requests nor job offers. They all had to go out and apply to land jobs, sometimes hundreds of times. His whole post is aimed at misleading people who know nothing of the higher ed job market.

This is precisely the intention of vouchers. They are an elaborate plot to destroy the public education system, which is part of a larger plot to enslave the American population
Arizona, the model for voucher programs across the country, spent so much money paying private schoolers’ tuition that it faced hundreds of millions in budget cuts to critical state programs and projects last year.

School Vouchers Were Supposed to Save Taxpayer Money. Instead They Blew a Massive Hole in Arizona’s Budget.

And this is the one defenders of the coverage of the 2024 election (if not Nuzzi specifically) want you to forget. Yes, Biden was too old and should not have run again. The question is why presidential age and cognitive ability stopped being an issue on July 23

So what are you guys doing for Charlie Kirk Remembrance Day?

I'm going to honor him by being a paid demagogue with views so repugnant that they can't be quoted, can't even be generally outlined, in glowing tributes to my good work.
National day of remembrance for Charlie Kirk motion passed the Senate by unanimous consent.

Zero Democrats objected, which would have stopped it.
Tommy Tuberville is presiding — and smirking.

We're witnessing the most aggressive, fanatical crackdown on free speech in my lifetime. The speed and breadth of government censorship and private sector and nonprofit capitulation has been astonishing. As has the lack of urgency/silence from people who've long claimed to care about this stuff.

Look, they do not have the capacity or competence to do this at the scale they want you to fear they do, and your fear is precisely their greatest force multiplier. Everybody who is cowed into silence by their threats allows them a smaller pool to focus on.
