Based on my experience I think the reason why we are overrepresented in tech area is the fact that tech companies used to be quite inclusive and colleagues relatively progressive + having a relatively highly sought out skills and salary that reflects that makes it easier to feel safe to transition.

Didn't sleep well.
I finally have a flight back home after spending 2 weeks for xmas/new year holidays in Croatia with family (which was fairly terrible).
I feel I need a vacation after this, I'm exhausted physically, emotionally and mentally from everything that happend over last 30 days or so.

I really feel smarter for stopping usage, even though I literally only used it for:
a. Quick debugging of logs at work, and/or quick scripts
b. equivalents of google searches (e.g. recepies)
I find the fact that people are using it to formulate messages or talk to other people increadibly scary

While we can point to the vast environmental and social consequences as the reasons for doing away with genai, I still feel that the evil at its core is convincing people that words and ideas are something they need help with.
