November is very cheeky this year, taking up six lines in standard calendar notation, rather than the usual five.

Once again - there are things you can learn about the United States only by being outside the United States. This is one of them.
There are actually Americans who genuinely believe that the U.S. is more respected now than before.
They obviously don't travel abroad much.

Trump: We're respected again. We had a country that was laughed at a year ago. We had a country that was a dead country

I'm about 1/3 of the way through the new Billy Joel documentary on HBO Max. It's been fascinating so far. He's got a great story and it has been so fun to relive the music from when I was a kid.

The verb "dust" is curious. It means to both do a thing and to undo a thing. One can dust a cake with confectioner's sugar. One can dust the furniture to remove the powdered sugar that fell from the cake as it was eaten.
Are there other such verbs in English?

I think this, more than anything, is the biggest challenge those who care about student learning face. How do we change the system so that students' hyperfocus is "the knowledge"?
It's terrifying how students not only see nothing wrong with using it (and many are aware of the inaccuracies), but also how they don't seem to be able to understand they simply don't have to use it. There's a hyperfocus on "the grade" and not "the knowledge." Terrifying.

As a tech guy who started out in the ‘90s, I never thought I’d come to see Bill Gates as one of the “good guys” but here we are
He’s a hell of a lot smarter than Musk, he actually built something from scratch and doesn’t hoard his wealth.

Very few words rhyme with each of the rainbow colors: orange, yellow, and purple.
Why is this and what can we do to even things out a bit?
