Waited until after 10am to crack into all the leftover pre-Christmas chocolate in the office. New year, new me.

First in office day back after Christmas and I only nearly slipped over twice coming through town. That's an xS (Expected Slip) of 0.33.

The discourse is all around deradicalising young men and the crisis among young men.

The discourse would be much better targeted if it was about deradicalising boomers (and increasingly Gen Xers).

Airstrikes were never going to destroy Iran's capacity to develop nuclear weapons - they are too well protected and advanced. Intention can only be to increase the political costs, yet the of Israeli strikes on Iraq's nuclear program is that this will drive political will and not curb it.

Starting to think the play here is to destabilize the regime more than cripple the nuclear program. It’s quite a bet by the Israelis.

It is already clear that this is not a limited attack on core nuclear sites. The target set is broad and includes top military leadership in a way that Iran will see as regime threatening. The IRGC chief is dead. That is likely to drive more expansive Iranian retaliation.
