Saying "oh he wrote about abuse and turned out an abuser, there were signs!" is a huge fallacy. It's the same argument people defending artists use when they say "oh but he can't be abusive, he writes about feminist topics and and kindness..."
One is as fictional as the other.
Discomfort is not harm, and if you're made uncomfortable by the work of a total stranger who does not know you exist, you can just process on your own and move on. You do not need to make it anyone's "fault" and no one needs to be "held accountable" for it.
