I think we're actually witnessing the end of the UK.
NI leaving, to rejoin the EU with Ireland, brings an end to the UK Act of Union 1801. Gibraltar, like NI & Scotland, also voted remain and you can see that is in the EU CU and Schengen now.
I don't remember that on the side of a big red bus!

I think Ai chatbots passing the Turing test is impressive, in the same way that a magician passing a coin through a solid oak table is impressive. But the thing is, magicians can't actually pass coins through tables; their skill is in making it seem that they can.

Just learned that the Royal Palaces release a Performance Report every year in which they report the king's performance against their KPIs and this has really tickled me. Filling in an annual performance review for being the king.

The LI-900 silica tiles used on the Space Shuttle were such poor heat conductors you could grab them with bare hands seconds after pulling them from a 2200 degree oven.
