73% of Copenhageners don’t own a car, and the city has made huge strides reclaiming public space for people that had been previously surrendered to cars. Now candidates in the upcoming city election want to prioritize “car storage” again. Not surprisingly, @colville-andersen.com isn’t holding back.

Vehicles should be speed-limited after two speeding tickets.
Look at this crazy SUV driver who barely misses hitting pedestrians. Look how fast they’re going. But e-bikes 🙄

I can see why people keep complaining about these “dockless vehicles” being left all over the pavement.

Local authorities need to find and punish the owners.

The Lower Thames Crossing tells two lies.

1. That the government can't afford anything.
2. That this particular project will even do what they claim it will. ⬇️
Building new roads creates new traffic.

This £10bn (!) scheme will only relieve traffic on Dartford Crossing for so long. How many years before a multi-billion-pound relief road is suggested to cut congestion on the Lower Thames Crossing??

We should be expanding public transport instead.
Approving the Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) is a desperate decision to distract from the likely bad news in the Chancellor’s Spring Statement tomorrow.

The Government can’t afford to properly fund the NHS, roads are falling apart, and benefits are being cut. But the LTC gets the go-ahead?

Wow!! That is a powerful video & a brilliantly coherent and understandable explanation of why security clearances are absolutely necessary. Unless you’re @pierrepoilievremp.bsky.social I guess.
WATCH: The gloves are off! It’s been an under-reported scandal for quite a while that Pierre Poilievre refuses to apply for security clearance. It was a scandal EVEN BEFORE the most recent efforts to undermine Canada’s democracy, sovereignty and economy from Trump, Musk and the GOP.

The Elizabeth Line this year moved more people than the 18 lanes of the 401 freeway, the widest in North America.

Traffic is simply a geometry problem, and adding one more lane won't fix it.

“It's amazing how pollution has dropped in #Paris in 15 years. @annehidalgo.bsky.social has filled the city with bike-lanes & not only has she reduced pollution by 40% but she’s also been re-elected.”

Trading car space for green space, bike space, kid space…trading pollution for people. Good trade.
Es alucinante cómo ha bajado la contaminación en París en 15 años. Anne Hidalgo lo ha llenado todo de carriles bici y no sólo ha reducido la contaminación en un 40%, sino que ha sido reelegida.

Presumed Liability Law; presumption that the person with most dangerous vehicle is at fault unless proved otherwise. I witnessed how careful motor vehicle drivers are around cyclists in Holland + Germany; I think them having this law is a big part of that.
