“don’t give them an excuse, they’re waiting for a reason to invoke martial law” too often sounds like “dont make too much trouble or they’ll do to the rest of us what they’re currently doing to brown folks”

I agree with Never Trumpers on a lot, but split hard on this: I do not think the Democratic Party needs to convince swing voters that Democratic candidates aren't too liberal. I think the party needs to convince swing voters that they themselves are actually quite liberal. They just won't admit it.

We're gonna need a truth and reconciliation commission and Nuremberg style trials to reckon with all of this evil, and any Dem candidate for office who shies away from a full reckoning in the name of "moving forward as a nation" can get well and truly fucked

The near daily barrage of deadly mass shootings in America feels like low level warfare against normal citizens who just want to live in peace. And because people keep electing Republicans who won’t do anything about it there’s no solution in sight.

The story of the last 10 years has been the establishment Democratic Party being so terrified of polls and focus groups that it has allowed the GOP to shape the national political narrative entirely according to its own ends.

Hakeem Jeffries: "Donald Trump promised that he would lower housing costs on day one. Here's a suggestion for the Trump administration: try to legislate, and maybe we can find common ground in order to get something done for the American people."

What a massive disappointment @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social has been.
Hakeem Jeffries says of Cuomo's attacks on Mamdani for living in a rent controlled apartment: "It's a legitimate issue that has been raised, and the [Mamdani] campaign is going to have to address it."

At the risk of oversimplifying, the unrest of young people today is largely about three things: 1. Cost of tuition and suffocating student loans; 2. Cost of housing; 3. Stagnant wages in the face of 1 and 2. They feel helpless because no one is helping.
Apparently Mamdani voters are the most privileged class in history AND are bitter about having no money and living in an apartment with 3 roommates into their 30s.

Pick a damn lane.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has emerged as one of the Democratic Party’s leading voices. But some worry she will turn off the centrist voters needed to win competitive races.
AOC Isn’t Ruling Anything Out, Including the White House
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s rise to prominence worries some Democrats who say the base is taking the wrong lessons from the 2024 election.

All of it. The illegal deportations, the stupid tariffs, the dismantling of a functioning federal government, the abandonment of the post-WWII western alliance ... it's all dumb, malicious and unnecessary. And it's diverting our attention from the billionaires who are stealing from us.
It’s really wild how there is no reason to deport anyone, let alone children and US citizens and LPRs and students and people undergoing cancer treatment etc. it’s all a fake solution to a made up problem enacted by violent racists who are stealing from you

At some point, these people will be held accountable.
And when that day comes, we’ll need every name, every signature, every illegal order, every act of silence—documented.
You’re not just preserving truth — you’re preparing evidence for prosecution.

This North Carolina voter is very aware and will not let anyone forget.
And Thom Tillis, up for reelection in 2026, was the key vote to confirm Hegseth along with Joni Ernst. Despite the fact that they knew he was unfit, they were afraid of Trump and put their political futures ahead of the country. Now they own every bit of this debacle.
