Another new policy from the geniuses in NIH leadership.
Apparently, ~70% of grant applications for most mechanisms will not be "triaged", i.e. not discussed at study section.
This is an increase from the ~50% level that has been in place for many years.

If they send the money out $2k at a time to 100s of millions of people, it will be that much harder for the Supreme Court to rule the tariffs unconstitutional because it would be impossible to claw the money back. So heads trump is emperor, tails there’s no consequences when he does illegal stuff.

Just hit 4K miles on the family cargo bike while taking the kids to school this am. This thing has been one of the biggest parental level-ups we’ve discovered. It’s made the commute something the kids look forward to, and has cut my commute (which was not bad to start) in half.

The Alaska Earthquake Center has long provided NOAA with seismic data for tsunami monitoring and warning purposes. That work will wind down in November, after the federal agency said it can no longer fund the contract.

I mean, dude has a pied-a-terre here I guess, but snuggles with his leaded gas era Camaro upstate most nights.. anyway…. If there’s an honest debate over progressive local taxation though.. Check out what happened in Boston when they put in a wealth tax. (Hint. The billionaires didn’t move)
