You can fix like 80% of electronics with this simple check list.
• Did a port/cable get shitty? Fix or replace them.
• Did a capacitor get shitty? Swap it out.
• Did the power supply eat shit? Get another one.
• Did a solder joint get shitty? Put some flux on that bad boy and reflow it.

Criticizing games writing can be difficult, because it's a craft that deserves to be discussed, but a lot of people who practice that craft have genuine, understandable limitations ("i gotta write five pieces today!") which is hard to do.
