I have come to realise that I enjoy the seasons changing more than I enjoy a season itself
want to go to the cinema but desperately trying to make it so I miss as few of our rare daylight hours as possible while in the dark room, people who love autumn and winter are such fucking freaks, my god

Do people not remember the last 5 prime ministers?
NEW from Ipsos

Satisfaction with the PM remains unchanged since September, continuing to be the worst ever recorded by Ipsos for a Prime Minister, going back to 1977…

Eating L after L for the sake of etiquette from a (frankly) long dead era helps no one at all.

Is misinformation has evolved journalism needs to move with it and meet the moment
The BBC is apologising for its Panorama edit. It shouldn’t. First, the narrative is true: Donald Trump *did* incite the Capitol riot. Second, the apology won’t appease those attacking it. So why not at least stand for something?

Wrote this on it earlier this week:

The BBC was right about the Capitol riots. In a sane world, Trump would be in jail
The US President faced impeachment over the violence, and in a world where Republicans had more courage, he would have been found guilty

Addiction to online drama will destroy everything
New post just out:

"Who might replace Starmer?"

With pressure growing on the PM, there are a lot of conversations going on in Westminster about who could take over.

Who are the contenders? Who's best placed to win? Would it make any difference?

Who might replace Starmer?
As predicted at the start of the summer, the idea that the Prime Minister might not make it through another year is gaining traction.

That thing about WW2 being out of living memory being the reason this all keeps breaking down around us becomes more and more believable
why are people on the left using "populist" in a positive way now, you shouldn't want your politicians to be populists, "populism" isn't good

This appears to be legitimate so I'll repost it.

WWE is now using AI storytelling and will use it more and more now that Paul Levesque is neglecting his duties to try to get into politics.

So far the best it has come up with is Bobby Lashley (now in AEW) becoming Tensai.

I think "thank goodness we are to smart to fall for this" has widely been debunked by this point
Yeah, this is sadly very naive. They've already done it to trans rights (which let them undermine basic principles of bodily autonomy) and made strides on anti-abortion rights - their "free speech protesters" outside abortion clinics regularly get to launder their views via the TV and print media
Right-wingers who think tactics they've used to criminalize abortion in the US will have the same kind of traction in the UK fail to grasp that religious fundamentalism is widely viewed as nuts in the UK, & has been for many decades, if not centuries.

As much chance of abolishing UK gun controls.

I think "infotainment" has a lot to answer for here, the messaging we receive has become more and more decisive to drive engagement and then perception becomes reality
"Polarisation may be an unhelpful term .... It implies that both sides are becoming equally extreme. Arguably the real dynamic is that elements of the right have hardened, embracing positions that would have been unacceptable a decade ago" on.ft.com/46TGRHs by @henrymance.ft.com 1/
How polarised is Britain?
Behind media perceptions of a sharpening political divide is a more complicated picture
