In Hurricane Katrina, mainstream media were more worried people might take stuff rom WalMart than that grandmothers were dying on rooftops of buildings surrounded by contaminated floodwater.
People will tell you that they view property destruction as equivalent to violence against a person, but that's not true. They think property destruction is worse

The day started with tragedy with political violence in MN and instead of being scared, neighbors SHOWED UP to stand together at No Kings Twin Cities. We packed the Capitol Mall all the way to the Cathedral. Estimate 80,000+ right now. So proud of our state. #nokings #indivisible

HHS says its new report on gender-affirming care proves that science doesn't support the care & that its risks are too great.

But the report doesn't really support that blanket statement. It found “sparse” to no evidence of harm and evidence about the benefits of gender-affirming care.
Administration condemns gender-affirming care for youth in report that finds “sparse” evidence of harm
The report, from the Department of Health and Human Services, stems from an executive order condemning medical treatment for trans youth.

President Trump and his administration are coming after Minnesota, threatening to cut off our federal funding unless we turn our backs on trans kids. This is bullying, plain and simple.

And today, April 22, I filed a lawsuit to stop them.

This week’s main story is about trans athletes, where the conversation around them is coming from, the nuances around competition and safety, and where it looks like things might be going. Full segment at the link in our bio.

Tomorrow please show solidarity after what happened today to all the amazing people at HHS who lost their jobs in such a heartless manner. Wear green and raise a middle finger to RFK.
Tomorrow, like every Wednesday, we wear 💚green💚. In solidarity for public health. In solidarity for those brilliant, hardworking staff who will not be coming in to work tomorrow. We carry your legacy with us now.

Will you join us? 💚

Was able to speak for a while this morning as @booker.senate.gov enters Hour 13 of holding the Senate floor.

With two glasses of water and sheer determination, he’s telling the world that America is fighting back against this President.

Go Cory!

Transgender Travel Ban.
Call it what it is.
State Department visa policy could bar trans people from traveling to U.S.
Violations could result in travel bans beyond just athletes

This Bezos statement should appear as a disclaimer at the top of every single Washington Post page, similar to the asinine disclaimer now posted at the top of every CDC page that mentions LGBTQIA. Make your position clear. Let me see your face.
Billionaire owner of Washington Post seizes control of opinion page. Will focus nearly exclusively to promote rightwing libertarianism. "Viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others."

a key piece of all this as we try to push back and survive:

make them make you. MAKE. THEM. MAKE. YOU.

Make their lives hard and annoying. Refuse to comply with vague and unconstitutional and obviously hateful orders. Make them expend energy and resources on making you.

Make them make you.
