I just read The Blaze’s article, and if they’re wrong it seems like they could be in big trouble. They gave extensive personal details about the person they claim is the bomber. Based on a 94% match.
Pro-Trump media went wild for a bombshell exposé claiming the Jan. 6th pipe bomber was a Capitol Police officer with CIA ties.

But now the story looks shaky, tweets are getting deleted, and the story's backers are running for cover. My @thebulwark.com newsletter: www.thebulwark.com/p/the-blaze-...
The Blaze’s Pipe-Bomb Bombshell Appears to Bomb
The right-wing outlet claimed to solve the Jan. 6th pipe-bomb mystery. Things quickly looked less certain.

This reminds me of the old Car Talk idea of a “haunted car”: you could replace every part and it would somehow still be a lousy car.

Organizations can be like that, too.
What if I told you that the University of Michigan was one of the most infamous offenders of faculty and student rights during McCarthyism? It feels like their current moves targeting student protestors are in alignment with this dubious honor.

Counting Race: How the Census Measures Identity and What Americans Think About It
How the U.S. government measures race has changed substantially since censuses began in 1790. Today, Americans differ on whether the government should ask about race.

The far-right and its centrist enablers are grossly overestimating the resistance to a Mamdani-type candidate in the 2026 Midterms. Their Trump Stockholm Syndrome prevents them from seeing how unpopular he is. Most people will accept almost any alternative to the current GOP!

"'They’re spending more money than I would even tax them,' [Mamdani] said in an interview with MSNBC last week."

This is the message. Make it clear that these billionaires aren't just worried about losing money. They're worried about losing the ability to exchange their money for power.

The best I can come up with is he’s thinking about people writing checks for groceries, which to my recollection was fairly common until maybe the 90’s? Being generous, that’s the last time he updated his worldview, so this checks out.
Trump: "It's time for Republicans to do what they have to do and that's terminate the filibuster ... we should start tonight with 'the country's open, congratulations,' then we should pass voted ID, we should pass no mail in voting ... you go to a grocery store, you have to give ID."

Failed as far as the election, succeeded as far as ginning up hostility.

I watched Cuomo’s concession and his supporters tried to shout him down when he struck a conciliatory tone. Worse than when McCain tried to shut down Obama “secret Muslim” concerns.
The last month of the anti-Mamdani campaign was an absolutely shameful undertaking, an attempt to rip the city and Democratic coalition apart and I'm very happy to see it failed.

Watching Mamdani's victory speech, I'm struck by his—and his campaign's—unabashed vision of the US as an immigrant society, a culture built from the ground up from diversity. It is a complete rejection and reversal of the search for a white-washed homogeneity that the political right projects.
