Heh. A week ago, a server I’m in talked about Smiling Friends, a show that Hellaverse haters love to tout about, and how you need to be a certain amount of “terminally online” to be really into it (they made a Chris Chan ref this season).

there are aspects of Vivziepops work that are super tacky or amateur or overdesigned but there's kind of a double standard re: who gets to be mediocre (and how) and still be successful. like the backlash here isn't about animation quality, it's about Tumblr

Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird was accepted into the film canon with open arms initially.
That’s key to showing how much audiences of all stripes have become more open to films like Welcome to the Dollhouse & But I’m a Cheerleader!.

All this talk of Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein has me reminiscing on an episode of the PBS Kids series Arthur that had Fern tell the tale of how Mary Shelley came up with the story.
It was the first time ever I learned the origins as a kid, and fully realized it was written by a woman.

For what it's worth, Governor Elect Mikie Sherrill came out against the Senate vote early Sunday evening. I take her at her word, she's pretty upset since this was a central campaign thing, and hopefully, New Jersey keeps moving further to solidify the state-run health exchange from the Federal one.
