Mothers are there for moments big and small: from our first breath to our first steps, our first day of school to graduation. This Mother’s Day, we're thinking of all of the mothers separated from their children, including those waiting in immigration detention.

Children, no matter where they come from, deserve to live free from fear, with their families, safe in their communities.

No child should ever dread going to school or outside to play thinking that ICE might deport them or their loved ones.
Fear Shadows Many Children in Immigrant Families
Heightened immigration enforcement is stirring anxiety among children whose parents are vulnerable to deportation. “Every day I worry they could take my mom.”

This is so heartbreaking and makes nothing better and no one safer. It is the punitive act of an administration that values fealty over human health.
A top scientist at Harvard who has spent years unraveling the mysteries of tuberculosis woke up Tuesday morning and discovered an order from the federal government telling her to halt her research.

Major alert: Montana may be about to pass a major anti-trans bill that charges parents with felony endangerment of a child if their child is on trans youth care.

It would apply to parents just passing through the state, visiting.

Would be the first law of its kind to pass anywhere.

Vote is TODAY.

Wife, first thing in the morning: Can you see me??

Me: Um... Yes?

Wife: IT WORKED! I'M NOT INVISIBLE!

Me: It's a good thing you measure affection in eyerolls.

Happy Trans Day of Visibility, y'all. 🏳️‍⚧️

Way too many people (like me) only find out they have lipedema in its more advanced stages. I just had surgery #1, & the recovery is BRUTAL. Lipedema is underdiagnosed & underresearched because it almost exclusively impacts women. Early intervention prevents SO much suffering. #lipedema

People love to talk shit about DC-- people who don't live here, who only see us during field trips or on the news. Those of us who call DC home know how special it is, not because it's the nation's capital, but because the diversity, culture, art, music, nature, food, and the dogs. #DC #dogs

The clowns who don’t even bother to check who’s in a chat as they plan to bomb another country…

are the same ones who demand that no one question who they round up and illegally render to a Salvadoran prison.

These are people who never deserve the benefit of the doubt, even about the time of day.

A come-to-Jesus moment for American lawyers, and for America's most important law firms.

This is it.

This is the moment you always imagined, where you told yourself you would do the right thing -- where you told yourself that your profession would stand up.

Law firms refuse to represent Trump opponents in the wake of his attacks
The result is an extraordinary threat to constitutional rights of due process and representation and a far weaker effort to challenge Trump’s actions in court than during his first term.

We reported on this a few days ago, but I want to point out this headline because this is where we are at.

A bill in Arkansas would ban gender affirming HAIRCUTS for transgender youth.

HAIRCUTS.

This is a straight up North Korea state sanctioned hairstyle proposed law for youth.

Yesterday was #RareDiseaseDay. I technically have a couple "rare" conditions, but #hEDS and #lipedema are both wildly under-diagnosed and probably less rare than doctors think. And #adenomyosis isn't rare at all, but because it affects the uterus, treatment and research are criminally lacking.

1. Nearly a century ago, Nazis burned trans books to usher in fascism.

Now, Trump is doing the same, digitally burning all records of transgender people and striking the community from records.

This must be seen for what it is: a move towards atrocity.
