The Australian Government makes more money from HECS repayments than it does from the PRRT.

Inequality has meant Australia collects less GST.

There are better ways to collect more revenue than just raising the GST, which would hurt poorer people more.

✅ Apply GST to private school fees and private health insurance
✅Tax the gas industry properly

Joh Bjelke Peterson (late, unlamented Premier of Queensland) used to call it ‘feeding the chooks’. I have long noticed the resemblance.
White House officials have an expression for lying to the MAGA faithful, it's called 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗭𝗢𝗠𝗕𝗜𝗘𝗦.

They mock you behind closed doors—laughing as they cook up the next batch of cockamamie misinformation to feed you to keep you blindly loyal, angry, and distracted.

Hoping Tasmania shows Australia how a strong cross bench with integrity brings good government.

Peter George along with a whole ticket of independents - real people not zombies from old parties - will end the sell-off of Tasmania’s forests and waterways.

The #Tasmania election could become a blueprint for other states and perhaps even the fed guv. A looming minority guv and strong crossbench of #independents should give the Lib/Lab duopoly pause. Let's hope the Indy/duop coalition is successful and offers hope for a new kind of politics in #auspol

Worth boosting. The teams supporting Independents have done a mighty job with the odds stacked against them. I honestly believe that the “keep Dutton out” factor pushed a lot of people towards Labor as the ‘safest’ option and without that Independents would have done even better. #auspol

Preferential voting is deeply democratic, because election depends on whom a majority find the most preferable option, and voting itself delivers a clear snapshot of who values what most politically and in what proportion. Any attack on it is an attack on Australian democracy. #auspol
