If you love rom coms and AAPI representation: watch A NICE INDIAN BOY on Hulu. Based on the play by Madhuri Shekar, an Indian American doctor played by Karan Soni is nervous about introducing his family to his boyfriend Jonathan Groff. It’s sweet, surprising, and the parents had me cackling

A Nice Indian Boy – Movie Review
A Nice Indian Boy is a delightful and heartfelt romantic comedy that stands out as one of the year’s most charming films. Seamlessly blending the comedic warmth of classics like My Big Fat Greek Wedding with the vibrant romance of Bollywood, it carves out a fresh space for queer love stories within South Asian families. Karan Soni and Jonathan Groff deliver exceptional performances, their chemistry making the whirlwind romance between Naveen and Jay both believable and deeply moving.

Someone finally gave the adorable Karan Soni a fucking leading role and it's in an absolutely delightful gay movie with Jonathan Groff! It's called A NICE INDIAN BOY and it's out in theaters now. I loved it--from the musical moments to the family drama (and comedy!). More movies like this please!

If you're lucky enough to live in a city A NICE INDIAN BOY is playing in you should go see it asap & if, like me, you're not, you should ask your local theater to start showing it. An actually funny, actually romantic romcom about queer joy, family, & figuring yourself out:

Y’all need to see A Nice Indian Boy asap. It’s like having pure joy injected into your veins. It’s hilarious, heartfelt, and smartly written and acted. Karan Soni and Johnathan Groff were amazing, as was the entire cast. Easily best movie I’ve seen this year in theaters.

Just sobbed my way through NICE INDIAN BOY. I am in my queer desi feelings. DDLJ plays a huge role in the movie, and I was reminded of how much I hate it. 😂 But the cultural relevance to particular desi demos can’t be denied. I know that aspect went right over a lot of viewers’ heads.

I don’t usually watch rom coms OR cheesy LGBTQ+ films so when I tell y’all that A Nice Indian Boy is actually a pretty good film, filled with some good laughs, and is the perfect lighthearted distraction you could use for about 90 minutes from the real world….please listen to me and go see the film!

Just saw “A Nice Indian Boy” at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. For 1 hour and 39 minutes, it was so engaging, I forgot the world is on fire. See it if you can—I loved it.

cannot overstate the degree to which i am negatively polarized against nimbys.

like, if you go to a public meeting to speak against lower cost housing i think the city should eminent domain your house and your house specifically
The first several speakers at this morning's comprehensive plan meeting have been longtime homeowners in Seattle's wealthy Madrona neighborhood, arguing that a two-block "neighborhood center" where some apartments will be allowed, saying it will destroy their neighborhood.
